Fender Stratocaster - 3D Modeling and Rendering
This is a Fender Stratocaster I modeled some time ago. I decided to revisit this model and make it look the most realistic possible, to push my texturing skills further. I reworked the mesh, added some details, and made it even more high-poly. But the biggest improvement was the texturing in Substance Painter. Learned a lot in the process, since I didn't have a lot of experience in that software.

For the wood parts, I tried to simulate how a real electric guitar is made. Used real textures for the wood (Ebony for the fretboard, Maple for the neck, and Alder for the body). The painting on the body is not in the albedo texture, actually, it's a clear coat layer with its own absorption color, roughness, normal, and opacity. If you remove the clear coat layer, the guitar would be on pure wood (Unfortunately, this means that I can't upload this asset in Sketchfab or use Marmoset, because those 3D viewers although have clearcoat shaders, they don't allow to use a custom texture for the clearcoat color, like the CoronaPhysical material on 3DS Max). Also, the neck has a simple clearcoat layer too.

On Substance Painter, I made the textures in a way that I could easily deactivate the "vintage" aspect and damages, so I can have a brand new version too, as you can see in the top view renders.

Modelling: Blender (4.375.568 tris)
Texturing: Substance Painter (35 textures between 8k and 4k)
